Lund Covers sold for $500. Wow, never seen them go for that much before, those suckers are quite rare.

Congrats to whoever picked them up. I have them on my car and love the way they make the front end look. Only down side is they are completely unusable at night, blocks out 90% of the light.

I just wish there was a better mounting system than slapping velcro on the fascia.

Speaking of headlight covers, I remember a thread right before the old site died about someone who made a new set of headlight covers. I have had these tail light ones unopened for a while now, and was thinking of getting another set made using these as a template.

Anyone remember who made those headlight covers?

I believe it was talonlover. I am most likely wrong about that though. I sold my set of headlight covers. Mine had the dmc on them, but the coloring was inverse, than the dmc on your taillight covers.

Mike, Last I knew of the headlight covers, Tamir had them made... http://www.projectvixen.com/dmcforum-archive/msg23235.html

Keep us posted, I'd definitely like to get a set of headlight covers and taillight covers.

Looks like Tamirs site doesnt have a link anymore, the DML stated that there needed to be 250 orders to make tooling costs?

No, i know about those custom ones, but there was a person on the board that did a one off set for his car out of smoked lexan. Wanted to see how well they have been holding up.

The ones you are talking about that were on Tamir's site were crap.

I worked with a 3rd party individual (with the intent of advertising their covers for sale, just like I do for the SS Sticker Decal Set on my site). They attempted to make these covers about 6 or so years ago. Only sold about 3 sets before I pulled them from my site and ended the relationship with that person who was making them and selling them.

The covers were pretty similar to any of the other ones I see people making these days. They were plexiglass (black tint), flat, cut to fit the headlight opening. I believe they even had a black rubber edge seal around them. The attachment method left a lot to be desired, thus after a few complaints, I stopped selling them.

The beauty of the Lund covers is they have a slight curve to them that follows the small curve to the fascia. Some people don't like this, and even prefer the custom flat covers (which tend to sit inside the light openings, rather than flush). Either way, the Lund covers fit nicely and attach in a very easy method.
