Replacing Alternator

What is the best - Getting an alternator from DMC, which should just bolt right in. Or one from an auto parts store. I went to Auto Zone & the one I currently have is a GM. But he could not find an exact match, the closest one was part # DLG1539-6-7. Does any one know what the part number is, or what car it matches with ?
