Really great video, thank you for sharing ;)
Good idea to avoid water to leak on the electrical connector!

Ah... You need to do it over... you did not put the Fuel pump clamp on right... Did you see how the fuel pump lifted up and you said you had to tighten... The clamp NEEDS to go around the outer White flange of the pump... Then it will be lower, and the closing plastic will fit, without having to put you foot on it...

Yep, refer to this page to install the pump correctly

The rubber sleeve around the pump assembly, how is it supposed to fit?

The top of the rubber has a lip edge, it fits right under the White lip edge, and the smaller part of the rubber goes into the nipple of the gas tank... when the clamp is in right, it puts pressure on the rubber and holds the pump in. The inner part of the of the clamp has a race that holds the White flange down... Did you not get the same instructions I got with pictures? I still have mine, I can fax or e-mail.

21076 Like this. The clamp goes around the plastic and the rubber and the lip on the tank, holds it all together.

I had the seal correct just not the clamp. I didn't look at the instruction photo close enough, sorry.

I've found this thread invaluable; I'm going to finish cleaning my tank this weekend before I install my new pump/sender combo, and there are details here that I likely would have gotten wrong otherwise. I'm also going to have to do that water deflector thing to keep the water off my new fuel pump; looks like it's just a bent piece of aluminum, right? Thanks!

The aluminum fuel pump shield is a good idea but here is another one from a DeLorean World magazine with different materials and no screws:

I have used this for about 10 years.
