Almost 1/2 way to standing out in the D crowd!

Just need some grunt in the engine bay to match the look!

Great job! Love the fact you wrapped it instead of painting it too.

Sent from my Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk4 beta. Enjoy the typos!

Yea, gonna wrap the fascias too, but those are gonna be a pain in the ass!

Was going to wrap it black originally, then decided yellow, then black and back to yellow! lol

if and when you take the wrap off, will there by any damage?

ah.... Wraps do no damage... like preserving Stanless Steel... like it needs to be preserved...

Great job so far! I was thinking of wrapping mine in blue, but chickened out when I thought of the fascias. LOL

I own the Delorean formerly known as the Gulf Coast Delorean and can testify that removing the wrap left no damage behind. The body is pristine!

Looks cool! I've seen stainless steel wrap before and wonder if it could be used to cover damage instead of painting the panels.

A DeLorean in any color other than stainless is blasphemy! But thats just me. At least your not painting it and I do like the preservation aspect.

Rob's DeLorean is, without question, the most gorgeous CAR I've ever seen. I've been around million dollar supercars and none look as nice as Rob's DeLorean.

Rob's Grady car is really beautiful.
The paint is awesome and the rear wheels matches perfectly.
Anyone know its VIN number?

I don't like D's painted or with other rims than stock.
But Damn! This green with the BBS rims compliments it graciously!!!

Me Likey. I'd Love to see a rear view of the trailer.

I've wanted to have some sort of a small trailer that I can haul a few R/C planes to Fly-In's.
This looks like it would work.

What kind of a hitch is this and, how was it installed?

Home made. I'm not sure about Ron's but I've seen others that hang from the frame and the engine cradle. There was one style made of steel for old D-1, none left that I know of.

Looks like this. This photo is a stainless copy of the original, Rich W may still have one of these for sale.

My original hitch was built by the same people that helped put together DRex for Rich. When I put in the Eagle 3.0 engine with headers a new hitch had to be built for some different fit issues. Also, the hitch that the monster truck guys built was like a Class 3 with a 2" reciever... which was a bit of overkill.

That is Rob Grady of (PJ GRADY) personal car. When he got the car, it was VERY rough. Rob told me it was just too badly damaged to try and fix the panels, So he chose to go with the painted look. I believe he said it was a metallic "British Racing Green" It IS gorgeous. I first saw it in person at the DOA Expo "Nashville" (95 or 96) He had a Big AMP and Multi speaker system built into the Back wall called " AMPZILLA"
I don't know if anyone ever bought one those units to install as they were about 2K back then.

Ron! Your Delorean is AWESOME!
It was my inspiration to go with yellow when deciding my wrap!

I've started on the doors and nearly completed the passenger side one now (pics attatched)

Ron, you HAVE to send me more pics of your car! (jpsevo@hotmail.com)

Cheers,
James.

The good thing about the wrap is that you wont have the color matching issues you can have with yellow. Yellow in paint form is a really transparent color and will change its look with more coats and will also look different depending on the underlying primer.

You probably cant see it in the pics but the trailer is not a "perfect match" Bottom line was that the car was primered in light grey and the trailer was primered in ruddy brown. Live and learn.

Chris N @ P J Grady Europe is making something very similar for my car at the moment. There was another person in the UK owners club after a hitch, so if there's enough interest Chris might do a short run of them.

Will be tough to come up with a trailer that cool though. :)

Looks great. How hard was it to get the wrap to lay down without bubbles and wrinkles? Especially in the complex areas like the facias. Were the facias done as one piece or multi-piece with strategically placed seams?

One thing though, IMO, you should do the silver stripe under the front facia to complete the look.

MRDMC
12-27-2013, 12:21 AM
Thanks mate. Was a bit of a pain, but it's a of patience and practice. The more you do it, the easier it gets :)

The fascias were done just as one piece... the biggest headaches of the job! I plan on doing the other strips at the bottom aswell. Forgot about them until I took it out the garage lol

Wow, that looks alot sharper than I would have thought, I really like it. Just missing the strip under the black bumper strip front and rear, you can still see the grey paint. Also Id put the rub strips back on of at least put on a black vinyl stripe in place of it.

MRDMC
12-27-2013, 12:48 AM
Cheers mate, looks even better in real life!

Yea, that's the bit we're talking about ;).

I'm gonna cover those grey strips with the yellow vinyl
