Lots of threads going on lately, which is a good thing!

Anyway, only 3 weeks away is the popular and enjoyable British Car show in downtown historic Norcross. I took my car last year and had a great time, despite the rain. It's one of the few shows around this area that is really worth looking forward to. Even though a couple of you came to visit last time, my D was the only one there, so I wanted to post something now hoping to remind anyone considering bringing their car this year. Tons of (British) cars and lots of interested spectator traffic. Would be fun if a few of us parked together!

Damn!

My favorite show/day of the year and I have just found out I have a fencing tournament to go to. Bah humbug.

Well I pre-registered today. So hopefully the guy at the gate won't say "sorry, British cars only" when I pull up this year, and I won't have to argue with him.

Aaaaannnyone else interested? It's one of the most fun shows to bring your car to. Nice crowd and setting.

Dermot, you're gonna have to tell your kid(s) to quit that damn fencing. It messes up way too many car events!! :frantic:

I know, right. Every bloody time. It's a conspiracy I tell you.

I'm over in Roswell too. I wonder if Mike F's UPS show is on? It is usually on the same day as the NRX show.

This guy is trying to get *30* DeLoreans to a British car day in Toronto. http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?8096-British-Car-Day-In-Toronto

Seems like trying to get just 1 or 2 more besides mine to Norcross should be easy.

I should be able to attend, and will show the DeLorean if my grommet order arrives in time. I am afraid that showing the car without them would be a reproach to the marque, and cast shame upon the DeLorean community as a whole. :shameful:

I'm impressed you would admit to not having them. Btw for shame sir! How dare you not have the grommets?

Well, after thorough research, I have concluded that the grommets were specific to grey interior, manual, turbo cars. Yours must have been removed at some point. I just want them so I don't confuse the general public who may not know better. So, see you on Saturday? I showed my car there in '09, and it was my favorite car show so far.

I would love to go, but won't be able to make it. I have a family reunion this weekend.....

That's awesome Mark!!! Looking forward to having a buddy there. Did you pre-register? It may help us be able to park together easier.

That stinks, but oh well. Have fun with the relatives.

I did today. We could meet up outside the gate before the show if you'd like.

It was good to see you guys agian, this time WITH my Delorean. I got it back from the shop Friday night just in time to go to the show in the morning. It was interesting to see how much attention our cars got even when surrounded by so many neat old British cars. I'll post some pictures up as soon as I get a few minutes on my computer.

It was a good show Saturday, and a good SEDOC turnout. I didn't get any good pictures, but maybe Derek and John can pick up my slack.

It was a good show as always. My only gripe being that they put us on the outskirts, far from the "action" and music, but we still had tons of spectator traffic. It was fun being with other DeLoreans and owners. Many of us are usually alone at these things.

Alright, here are a bunch of pics. Sorry if it's too many, but hey, I'm covering the show! :)

The line at the fish n' chips place was out the door and across the street! Pizza place next door had no line whatsoever. Guess I'll be having fish n' chips at the Italian show in Oct. :)

There was an Aston Martin rep who encouraged people to sit in the car. It was very nice, but the backseat would be tight on a long trip. A Mercedes S or BMW 7 would be much more practical, yet still super nice.

And how exactly is this a British car???

edit:

NVM. Wiki tells me that Mk I, II and III were built in England, whereas IV was built in the US. Never knew that.

I was wondering that myself. Now we know. Although I'd have to imagine the argument with the gate person to bring that in the show would be even harder than with the DeLorean.
