Well I was pondering the other day as I was hooking up my new fuel lines to the fuel rails. Is the accumulator necessary with the 3.0s fuel injection system? The regulator is already built into the fuel rail, why have an accumulator in the system anymore?

It is my knowledge that the Premier did not use an accumulator, as it is a k-jet/mechanical fuel injection related component.

Of course I thought of this after I purchased and installed the accumulator...

Thanks
Josh

Accumulator also smooths out the pulses of pressure created by the fuel pump.

I've been running EFI for two driving seasons now, and my accumulator has been there the whole time. Does no harm.

Thanks for the input guys. I figured leaving it in would be fine, however simplicity (removing potentially unnecessary components) is nice too.
