I really would love an answer to that.

Them: "It's aluminum?"
Me: "Nope, stainless steel"
Them: drag greasy fingers across freshly cleaned car
Me: :facepalm:

It's like they expect stainless steel to be fuzzy or something. If only it were connected to a cattle prod....

I'd like to pretend that the first time I saw a DeLorean I didn't have an unspeakable urge to touch it.

But I did.

and I touched it.

I was honestly expecting it to feel rougher and grainier (if that's even a word). But it was that surprisingly smooth finish we all know and have come to expect.

...having been on the opposite side of that coin I don't really mind if people touch the car. I just carry some windex with me and wipe it down if I have to.

That being said, someone opening the door and plopping down in the driver's seat is a completely different story.:swear1:
