Early Style Ashtray

For those interested, I have a refurbished (by me) early style Ashtray for sale. Please see pictures for condition. It was disassembled, cleaned, and painted. It now looks new. The tab inside is intact. These are no longer available anymore, and I believe they are the best version of the DeLorean ashtray. I would like to start at $100 and will negotiate from there. Replacements from DMC are $50 and are not of original design. I am open to all reasonable offers. Ashtray is in California.

I'm interested in modifying mine to accept an audio jack and such and am wondering how you got the top apart from the bottom. Of all things, I have two rust spots on the inside. No rust anywhere else on the damn car, but I have rust in my ashtray. Instead of masking off the parts I don't want hit with the rattle can, I'd rather just take the top off, if possible.
