Good to see the Delorean forums back again.

I made a post about entering the BABE Rally and searching for a $500 or less vehicle.

Here is the contender and my first ever car I've bought and own:

She is no Delorean, but the feeling of your first car is incredible. Firefly is becoming a great DD as well.

The rally was one of the best things I've ever done with lots of stories and...in my case...footage. Being a film grad I documented the trip with Minicams and Handycams.
Been editing together a documentary.

Nice! Reminds me of my first ride, a 1978 Volare, bought for $300 when I was 15. my then girl friend now wife labeled it the "burnt orange Nova" it was metallic gold and slightly resembled a Nova. Here is an example, same model different color:

Here is my first car.. 2006 Ford Mustang GT.. And yes, I paid for it, not "mommy and daddy" She has kept my bank account very low, but I love my car and hopefully will for many more years.

My first car cost $300 in 1977 when I was 16... This is what I was driving...

It didn't look quite that good but with its 440 Magnum... I lost my licence TWICE before I turned 21!!

Cool cars. I wonder if we should start a "What was your first car?" thread.

My first car. Bought, and sold, for $250. Circa 1973.

1965 Mustang 289 3sp manual. Gotta love the spring shackles. And I believe the brake light switch was sticking.

I repainted it in a friend's front yard about the time this photo was taken.

I also paid $500 for my first car. It was a 1969 Chevy Nova. Bought it in 1971. I guess those days are gone of buying a two year old car for $500. The carburetor was not bolted down tight on the manifold and that was the only problem.

Painted it black in my parents driveway and put Cragar SS Mags on it with big fat rear tires and little front tires. I sold it to my dad when I bought my 1974 Vega SS new in 1974.

Its beautiful. If you are new to cars be sure to keep a close eye on the temp gauge. My first car was an 88 Mercury Tracer that my dad paid $800 for. It was a sweet little car for my first ride but I knew nothing about cars and over heated the engine after having it for 6 months. After that I learned what temperature gauges are for.

I wish my car had a temperature gauge. I have a Temp. light (next to the oil/choke light)
