Sounds like one of the board members here who sent his running, driving DeLorean to a vendor a while back will have a tab not terribly far off that figure.

This car has been there for about a year. Original NCT's. Reads low mileage but been sitting for a long time. Last time it was running and registered was in 1994.

Man that's a lot of leaves.... I bet the VOD is loaded with all kinds of crap.

It also looks like the car is parked on a black plastic tarp... I can't decide if that would be a good or bad thing for the frame. On the one hand I'd think it would keep a lot of the ground moisture from rising up from the ground, but on the other hand I'd think it would cause water to pool underneath the car and sit there longer than if the car was just on bare ground. Either way I can't imagine the frame looking very good on that car.

It's hard to tell from the phtoos but could this be the same car from this thread?

I wondered that too. But the other car had a Maine plate (which could have been taken off, obviously) as well as trashed louvers from the snow. These ones look OK, so I would say that they are different cars.

If http://www.citizenkidd.com/DMC/pages/vin.asp is correct, this was the LAST regular production line DeLorean! Since the 20xxx ones were assemebled after shutdown. And it's being left to rot in a yard :(

Lordfly is correct. This would have been the last regular production car before the factory was temporarily shut down. At that time it would have had VIN 12170 which was later changed to VIN 17170 by adding 5000 to the VIN number and then declaring it an '83 model. The right hand cars at the company where they were being converted started with VIN 12171 which was the next VIN in line to be used. The cars still on the assembly line were given VINs starting with 20000 (or 20001) when workers came back in and finished up the assemblies before the factory shut down for good.

I have a feeling that this is what mine looked like before it was dragged to DMCFL and they tried parting it. Funny is that even they could not find enough usable parts on it to use.... So was the bright one to buy it and restore it! Hahahahaha!
