Hello. My name is Vadim. I am from Russia and I want to buy Delorean.
I found one car costs $ 25,000.
I have pictures of this car.
You can look at the pictures and tell your opinion, whether the price is correctly?
Thank you.

Hi Vadim,

Welcome to the forum.
Is the price ok?
Depends on where it is comming from. As you have a $ price I assume it is from the US, from the Pics I would doubt if it would be in Scandinavia with the wooden houses, but hardly AC equipment there :approve:
In Europe in €, that price would be rather ok, the interior looks good, but some important pics are missing;
Underside, dashboard and engine. Looks like the seller was trying to hide the plastic bottle in the picuture, but clean engine bay.

The angle of that exhaust pipe looks not ok to me.

Hello. Thank you. Its USA (Brooklyn)

These pictures are from a different car than the first set! I think these are from the middle car, and the first set are from the car at the back (based on the blue tarp in the pictures).

This seller has been selling 10011 for about a year now (that's not saying that there is anything wrong with it), and says that he has 6-7 cars "in-stock". Make sure that he sends you pictures from the correct car (they all look the same, you know ;0 ). A video of it running would be good too. As well as pictures of the frame etc.

As you won't be able to visit the car in person, before you buy, I would suggest getting one from a main vendor, or privately from someone who only has one car, so you can be sure the photos/videos you get are from the car you will purchase. Again, I am not saying that there is anything fishy with this seller, and he has sold a number of cars over the years, but it is hard to buy a car from overseas.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, come to the U.S. from Russia personally difficult.

By the way, to bring DeLorean in Russia from the United States, I have to pay $ 20,000 Russian customs. (customs fees). Payments depend on the engine size. (1 cm3 = $ 9)

Wow!
Sounds as crazy as the Greek customs.
Can't you register it as an old timer? (not daily driver)
This D looks clean but the price is also on the high end.
Depends how much you want to spend and how much of repair you want to pick up.

Sellers that cover up the critical parts... the sunshade falls rigth over the binnacle, so you may assume it has sundamage. I'mvery suspicious when they do that.
Buying from the US has certain advantages; indeed a lot more choice, Prices are also lower in the US, but shipping from the US does not come cheap.
I think you're better of looking for one on this side of the atlantic for practical reasons.

I'm sure you'll find Delorean owners that will go look at it for you and give you an honest opinion, like our fellow Delorean drivers do in ths US.
If I would buy a new Delorean I would go to the US. Going there and the shipment will compensate, but you'll have a free trip to the US as a bonus, and there are always great things to see over there:smile:.

There are 2 Delorean in the Moscow region at this time I think.

LOL - I always that it said "werd" too and assumed the same slang translation. I reckon my vision is getting poorer.

Back on topic - that $59k 2-tone yellow interior car is a bit too much for my tastes.

Since it is not a small difference to your estimated customs charge, may I point out that with an engine displacement of 2849cm3 a DeLorean may invoke a Russian customs duty of US$ 25,641?

You give the rate of $US 9 per cm3 and the result is over $US 5,000 higher with this math vs your estimate.

I am not an import duty expert, so you can review the math yourself and plan accordingly.

The exact cost of customs duties - 19444.60 USD.
Shipping to the port in Finland - 1500 dollars.
Shipping from Finland to Moscow - 2000 dollars.
Russian certificate - about $ 1500.
Import car in Russia - an expensive lesson.
But I'm ready. I just need a good Delorean.

Search 5ST only.

I'll take that as a need for a 5-sp, not wanting an automatic.

Did you know about this one in Houston TX? Not much info in this listing and photo is low-res but it seems to be in your price range.

I'd like to take a guess at this one.....

He's saying the icon does say "werd."

"Werd" is the phonetic spelling of "word."

"Word" is urban slang for "I totally agree."

Also, "word" is the abbreviated version of "Word up."

So...... he intended to write "Word up, bitches."

aaaaand we're the bitches -lol!

"Bitches" is likely being used as a slang term for: "comrades that I have one-upped."

Yes, we see this.

Are you telling us that you are searching for a DeLorean in to export from North America and you are not planning to use the telephone for part of this search for a good DeLorean?

Skype is a low-cost option for international dialing unless it does not work from your end?

This is a good reason not to contact a seller directly by phone. My fault for assuming otherwise.

Idea: You can write in English. So you could send a SMS - text message in English to that telephone number. Skype or direct. Introduce yourself and ask for the seller's email address - very likely the number is a mobile/cell number.

There is a nice DeLorean for sale in your country:
http://www.autolehmann.ru/cars/#gnumber=12G361&
With a custom interior.
Can you ask them the VIN number of this car, just curious?
Thanks ;)
