I would be up for this as I only want one as well to put either under the hood or in the engine bay...

How would it work out since we are in separate countries?

If the VIN plate is on the driver's side, would this fit on the passenger side?

Thinking of a good place to stick it.

Thinking that too. If you look at the pic I took it is as wide or a little wider than the vent behind the door. I did some measuring and my guess is the plaque is 4" in length.
If so, it will fit on the passenger side if facing forward like the VIN plate on the driver side. I think that would make a nice touch.

I also like the idea of the "Handling by Lotus" badge, but would prefer it to be more low key without the bright green/yellow colors like this badge to display it either in the same location or elsewhere on the car in a way that looks like it came from the DMC factory....

I have one of those "Handling by Lotus" badges too (thanks to Wolff) and haven't decided what to do with it. Would love to hear ideas. Not sure I love it on the rear flank but it is pretty cool looking.

I was planning on putting it under the "DeLorean" on the rear bumper, aligned to the left with the "D"

If it looks great on the opposite side of the VIN Plate, I might get one. :)

......... plus the SS lettering for the door sills. :)

I have those "handling by Lotus" on the sides of my car, but after 2 years I'm thinking to remove them.
I have a "designo Giugiaro" badge as well in the front door opening.

I took that picture from a car at DCS 2010 inside the tent on Sunday morning IIRC....

That badge would look good in the dash area, maybe on the shifter console or passenger knee pad.

I think the handling by lotus badge really only looks good in the engine bay. Anywhere else to me just looks disruptive and out of place; especially on the stainless (No offense John)

As far as the Styling badge, either the engine compartment or the passenger side door opposite the vin plate. These are the two places where information about the car are kept anyway. Again, putting the badge on the the stainless to me just completely disrupts the flow and design of the car; ironically with a little plate talking about the styling of the car!

I say put it somewhere where people can read it if they wish but dont force them to read it. Just seems kind of tacky or gaudy to put it where someone HAS to read it; almost like it's being flaunted. To me it would be like DMCH putting their "stage 2 engine" or "remanufactured car" badge in the middle of one of the quarter panels.

Just my opinion.

Non taken.
I know you're right, and that is why I am considering to remove it. But than I need to blend it again so it can not be visible where it was. I just hope I can remove it without damaging it.

the badge in discussion here is nice too but is not ideal to be put on the body of the car either. Too bit with too much information on it.
Just a nice logo would be nice.

Are your Lotus badges using the original adhesive? I have one in my engine compartment on the right side of the engine cover stay and I had a hell of a time trying to get it to stick. Perhaps it was because of the Turtlewax F21 I've used in cleaning the engine, but still. I tried alcohol and several other cleaners to get the surface ready. I think in the end I had to use superglue to get it to stay. Might be a decision I'll regret if I ever decide to remove it but hopefully that wont happen, lol.

Is it possible to read the plaque in the engine bay? Looks tiny.

Ive got the auto shifting plate, so when i get mine, im going to stick on the passenger side, mirroring the VIN plate. Would look better behind the shifter or if u have a later model, next to the dimmer switch.

Oh yeah, totally readable. It's the glare from the flash that makes it hard to read.

Tim D from Delorean Motor City gave me a nice badge while visiting the Woodward Dream Cruise. I installed it on the passenger side door jam opposite of the VIN plate, looks and fits great. Thanks Tim!

Late reply;
Yes it is the original adhheasive, and it has been there for 2 years or so. My Delorean was rented out to be on display at a sort of AAA meeting in Belgium at the formula one track. There were thousands of people there, and even there was someone watching 3 cars, the D among them I am very much surprised these Lotus badges dit not disspear.

I just had to clean off a massive amount of fingerprints.

Mine came with adhesive tape. So no oozing of glue. Surely mine came from the same supplier.

Mine was used. There was old, orange glue underneath. I used Goo-Gone to clean it all up and then used the trim adheasive to keep it on. That's why I had to deal with the oozing glue...but not an issue anymore..

Me too I have this sign and love it. And I try many different location on where to put it.
One interesting location would be on one front wing, where there would be a side turn signal indicator,or just under the rubber stripe behind one of the front wheel.
Just an idea. I personnaly have not put the emblem anywhere yet.

But I would be very interested in that Giugiaro plate_ since he is one of the best car designer of all time I feel.
