I didn't think to ask any of you when I saw you at DCS:

How do you access the engine on a Time Machine conversion?

Thanks,

Rich

The whole thing lifts up. Typically hinged at the back but different builders do it differently. In some designs you have to remove a section of the "vent" where it hooks around the fascia, in others you slide the panel back to disengage, and I've seen some where they just don't make the vent true to the design and it will lift up like the normal engine cover. It's insanely heavy no matter what, and the more "true" the design the harder it is.

Thanks Dave.

It looks pretty heavy, I assumed the engine cover gets replaced due to all those components. I'm interested to see some pics of that mamba-jamba being raised up just to see what it looks like. :strongman:

On our cars, you just lift it up and hold it up with a steel pole.

It goes to show even after 25 years of Dmc obsession there are still lots of unknowns!
