haha thats good! Yeah I ordered the bushing from DMC, should be interesting, not looking forward to pulling the column, but hopefully it will be worth it!
I do have that same steering column issue and Ill bet its the bushing cus it make a hell of a wracket just by grabbing the wheel and moving it around but I just havent had a chance to check it yet. My ac is totally F'ed, I cant get it to do anything, my fans dont come on and the control head doesnt do anything either. Im sure its just a wiring or power issue but its another thing I havent had a chance to get to yet. I really wanted to get running right before I dig into that. 2 things on my ever growing shit list. I really do love working on it though.. I pretty much got all my interior back in last night, its starting to look like a car again .. yey !
No problem, good luck with the projects! A couple more questions for you, did you have the steering column bushing issue? If so did you fix it yet? Thats probably the most annoying thing about the car, the column has soo much movement in it, especially when you have to turn it hard while backing out etc. Second, have you every charged your A/C? Thanks again!
Really, I would be very lucky to get her totally up and running by Sat (I discovered a little rear brake issue) but I am hopefull. This might be a great week to get some work done. I just finished doing the roof box bolt down and resealing and now Im moving on. But maybe the week or 2 after you get back Ill be ready, a big parking lot in S. Philly would be great.. Im in. And no I havent found out why my tach took a shit, I do think it is the tach itself because my binnicle was takin out by the PO and by the looks of his work Im sure thats what it is but I really hope its something easy.. Ill keep you posted
Yeah the exterior and the interior look great, but it definitely needs some work (as I expected). The angle drive probably needs to be replaced, the steering column is really loose, probably because of no bushing, and the engine idles a little rough. But I would love to get your input also. If you get the car going and want to meet up Saturday let me know. Sunday I am going away for a week but we could always meet up after I get back. Maybe in South Philly at a big parking lot like the Best Buy or something? Also I noticed your thread on the tachometer being stuck, did you figure it out? Mine did the same thing yesterday, its frozen at 2500
Sure, would love to. Im hoping to actually get mine rolling this weekend. It still needs a lot of work but im getting there. Ill bet my money pit is bigger than yours.
