Im getting ready to pull the pan on my transmission and change the filter and all that and wondered if there is a torque value i need to observe when putting the pan back on?

Not much. 5 ft-lb. Do it evenly in a criss cross pattern across the 13 bolts. Get all four corner bolts in place and finger tight. Then the remaining 9 bolts finger tight. Then go back to the corner bolts and tighten them a half turn or so each, doing the one opposite next. Then do a similar criss cross with the remaining bolts. Do another half turn or so with the corners and then like wise with the middle bolts. Do this tightening with your torque wrench as 5 ft-lb is less than you think. You don't have to go in small, half turn steps, just try not to go all the way from finger tight to 5 ft-lb in one step. If you get one end of the surface tight and the opposite end isn't flush, it'll tend to leak. Evenly tightened is more important than nailing it right on 5 ft-lb.

Also. the drain plug doesnt look like a bolt? but recessed in?
