Replacing bunch of Alternator Wires for larger 4 gauge Single wire cable?

Has anyone been successful in removing the bunch of Alternator wires and running a larger single wire cable ex: 4 ga or 1/0 ga wire in place?

Trying to tidy up engine bay wiring. Already redid battery cable (now 1/0 ga) to jumper post (now 250amp breaker in engine bay) for added insurance.

Curious what others have done with this wiring to upgrade.

Still need to add thermo sleeving to keep wires from melting with new headers/exhaust system.

Yes, I removed the brown wires and ran a battery cable from the alternator to the bulkhead. The brown wires were very corroded and this was my best option. I ran the wire down the pontoon instead of across the engine in the wiring harness as the pontoon route seemed easier and faster. I still have it like this to this day with no problems.

Man never thought about it but running the
2 power cables to starter and alternator thru
The pontoon would clean up the engine bay
Quite well and eliminate the risk of fire not being
Run by frame rail.
Any pics of how and where you guys entered and exited th3 pontoon with cables? I imagine rubber wire grommets would be ideal on pontoon to keep wires from getting

My wires do not run through the pontoon. Running one wire from each device lets you place the wires to avoid hot or sharp edges. I use some vacuum hose (slit it and slip over edges) to protect wires from touching sharp or metal edges that may cut through with vibration.

I am running a single 1/0 set of cables in 11408. They are very large, for no reason.
When I built 2022 I downsized to 4ga. Smaller than stock but plenty for a 110a alternator.

Same on my car, got rid of the brown bundle and replaced with red battery cable in 2015. No problems so far.
