POE = Port of Entry
Agreed ... Great documents, especially the Manifest / Vessel Summary page.

They probably used one port of entry west and east so that made it simpler... And cheaper!
Very good documents! Thanks for it.
Wow, a big thanks from the owner of VIN1052 :) Because my car was first sold in Iowa (to an Illinois wholesaler), I always thought it had entered the States somewhere on the East Coast. Now I know it was the sunny California 8)

These cars must have `sailed` through the Panama canal, right?
Actually, the first grey interior cars were VINs 2436-2441, all built between July 9th and July 12th of 1981. These were shipped on the July 17th manifest.
A little more than a month later, grey interior production began in earnest with VIN 2973, and continued for about 400 cars. These were split between the Hoegh Target and Kattegat manifests - it would makes sense that they would want to split up the new grey interior cars between the east and west coasts.
The DeLorean Museum offers "original owner certificates" for thousands of different VINs, many of which contain all of these details and more.
All proceeds from the sales go directly to the treasury of The DeLorean Museum, a nonprofit corporation. Funds from the treasury are used strictly for the acquisition of memorabilia and supplies necessary to protect and preserve the existing items in the Museum collection.

Thank you Sarah for the correction of my presumptions:)
One off!!!!! :tantrum:
Sorry, had to... ;) Already knew it was part of an earlier shipment, but now that I see there's a manifest, I'm curious if they made one for said earlier shipment. I always heard it was shipped earlier, but never knew there was a comprehensive list of all the VIN's in each shipment. This is actually truly fascinating!
(Although in case anyone's wondering, the VIN lists were largely sorted by whole VIN, so the fact that it seems to repeat ranges comes from the check digit, NOT from haphazard sorting. If you transcribed the VIN's to Excel and sorted on that column, you'd get the same results. I've got similar paperwork and figured this out with mine. Really should digitize it soon.)
Do any other shipping manifests exist that the community is aware of? I'd be VERY interested to learn about the boat and time my car made its way over.
