Ouchie! If that happened to me, I'd be screwed...When I get to that point I'm having DMCNW do all the mechanical and safety and reliability stuff before I drive it (again)...that way I know if something breaks, it aint my fault...hehe

You're lucky enough to have a trusted mechanic, at least near you :)
So with all the comments on Facebook/forums etc did you finally work out who's ball joints these actually were? Fortunately no major damage was done to you or your car and for that we are all thankful and it looks like it may have been a washer issue but would be good to know.

Yes looks like the washer was faulty and help the bolt to be unscrew.
Next time it will be mounted with a castle nut and Loctite 270 to prevent any damage.

I think I need to drill this one to avoid any loosing nut. Can't see any new upper ball joint with a hole.
