Hi again, Scott R has just emailed me that he owns #10566, not #10556!
Still looking for clues about my cars elusive American history!
Any ideas, anyone?

Probably your best bet would be DMC Houston to pull a VIN search. I know for a fact i haven't done any work to that car via tech days and such.
Thanks Mike, I just remembered that when the windshield was replaced a few years ago, a DeLorean Owners Association sticker was on it-I saved the sticker(!) maybe some one knows the car from there?
Also, tried to contact DMC Houston but keep getting message sending failed-is there a direct email address?
James is actually on the site. you can send him a PM directly. His Screen name is DMCH James. He would be the person to tell you if he has any information on your car.
As far as the DeLorean Owners Association, I wouldn't count on anyone knowing much. That group has undergone several leader changes in the past few years, and as far as I know really aren't functioning as a group any longer.
Since our forum came back up in May of last year, not one post has been made by a DOA member in that section.
I'll contact DMCH James soon as, Mike-I thought the D.O.A. had finished up a few years back. Cheers for the lead!
My pleasure!
