3D Printed Cell Phone Bracket
There's not a good place to put a cell phone for navigation or to play music in the car, and I haven't liked the add-on solutions. I don't want to block the vents with my phone, nor do I want to rely on the thin, old plastic vents to have to support the weight. I don't want anything permanent either. I bought a 3D printer last week and have been working on a bracket to pair up with the ASI radio. I took apart a Belkin holder that's meant to connect to a vent and mated it with my piece. It can rotate, so I have the option to twist my phone between portrait and landscape. When I don't want the bracket to be visible, it's easily removed.
I don't think this is going to be the final design, but it's satisfying to have learned 3D printing this week and to have produced something useful.
