It is the classic hunting idle, between 500 to 1000 rpm, give or take. I need to trouble shoot it. Just not too framilier with the Delorean yet.

Any insight as to what causes the classic hunting idle?

It can be tweaked but you need to do a lot of research into k-jet before you start adjusting the fuel mixture. It's a very sensitive adjustment that requires a special tool or two and it can go the wrong way very easily. You may have a vacuum leak you can't see that is affecting things in which case adjusting the mixture is the wrong course of action. It's very common to see a vacuum leak where the idle speed pipe enters the mixture unit on the LH side. With the air box off on a cold engine, shine a light under the idle speed motor and leave it there while you press down the metering plate. If you see light around where the pipe enters the mixture unit body, you've got a leak. It's a silly design.
It's not the reason your engine is stalling though. Forget about the hunting idle until you've solved the stalling issue. Also, there is a large DeLorean presence in AB, have you joined the AB DeLoeans owners Facebook page? Might be a good idea.
Hi,
Thnx for all the advise. Very appreciated.
I have joined the Alberta Deloreans owners club. Lol.
I have no plans to adjust the mix. I plan to check for vacuum leaks, test for spark and inspect the fuel filter.....
My thoughts are that I need to fix the hunting idle, then if it is not the cause of the stalling once the engine is hot..... figure that out.

Gavin, you can also double check that the electrical connections on top of the ignition coil and the ones on the ballast resistor are all good and snug.
Pics or video, as Dave suggested, you could post some images of your engine bay and perhaps the fuse and relay area behind the passenger seat and then one of us online might see something causing you trouble while you're getting more familiar with the car.

I had to tight a hose. No difference.

Yikes, that's not a factory fuse box and i see A LOT of splices and cut wires in there.
Also, where is your RPM (fuel/lamda) relay? Should be up near the back, perhaps tucked under something?
Ya.... the previous owner changed it into 2 fuze boxes
