2018 DeLorean Mid-Atlantic Fall Foliage Tour - Oct 26-28 - Medford, NY

Registration is now open for the 2018 DMA Fall Foliage Tour for the weekend of Oct 26th - 28th!

This year we're teaming up with the Long Island DeLorean Club for their famous Road Rally and Driving Tour! The tour will bring us around the scenic north shore area of Long Island where we'll pass through wineries and farm stands throughout Riverhead and Jamesport. The tour is casual with plenty of time to go slowly, or spend some additional time at any of the locations if desired. You will be asked to photograph different items and solve clues along the way for a chance to win prizes! All are welcome! If you do not have a DeLorean, you can either use your car as an “Honorary DeLorean” or team up with another DeLorean owner and work as his/her navigator/photographer. We'll also be stopping for lunch at Moustache Brewery, a small family owned operation who happen to be BIG Back to the Future fans! They will have food trucks on site but additional options will be available in the area.

Dinner will be at the Country Fair Entertainment Park. Our group will be seated in a private room with buffet including chicken marsala, eggplant rollatini, pepper steak with mushrooms and onions, garden salad, roasted red bliss potatoes, string bean and assorted cookies and brownies. Cost is $38 per adult and $14 for children age 3-10.

We'll have additional arrangements for early arrivals on Friday closer to the event as well as potential Sunday activities for those who choose to stay a little longer in the area.

Hotel
We've reserved a limited number of rooms at the La Quinta Islip. Rates are $113.05 + tax for Friday or Saturday night. Please reserve your room directly with the hotel at 1 (866) 527-1498 and mention our club name or use group code 2008-1371. The deadline to reserve a room is October 12.

Hi all! A reminder that registration will be closing in a few days for our upcoming Fall Foliage Tour event! Tom, Donna and Dave recently finalized the route and it's going to be a beautiful drive!

Just a friendly reminder that TODAY is the final day to register for the Fall Foliage Tour! We'll be out in Medford, New York joining forces with the Long Island crew for their driving tour and photo contest! A BIG thanks for Tom and Donna Neiland for helping us plan this one!

We've included a few options for activities in the area for those who stick around on Sunday. I'm interested in checking out the Harvest Festival myself.

Port Jefferson Harvest Festival: Port Jefferson Village, NY. Live music, haunted walking tours, costumed dog parade, marshmallow roasting, tastings, scarecrow alley, chowder crawl and more! FREE admission. Noon - 5:00pm

NY AutoFest Halloween Car Show: Oyster Bay, NY. $5 for spectators, $25 for show vehicles. 9:00 am - 4:00pm

Haunted Wail-Ing Boos-eum: Whaling Museum and Education Center in Cold Spring Harbor, NY. Annual not-so-scary Haunted Boo-seum full of hands on activities, live critters in the spooky zoo, and spooky crats. $15 per child, $5 adults. 11:00 am - 3:00pm

If you registered for the event, you should have received a message directly from the officers.

As much as we're disappointed to announce this, the officers have decided to CANCEL this weekend's event due to the weather forecast. While we've never cancelled for rain, this weekend is calling for a nor'easter in the region with severe wind and flooding. There's a 100% chance of rain with wind gusts averaging 25 to 30 mph, up to 50 mph. Some of the route is near the shore and on narrow roads which could be prone to flooding, so we wanted to be cognizant of the safety of our members.

If you've paid for the event via PayPal, you will receive a refund. If you paid by check, you will be contacted directly on how to process your refund.

For anyone who had a hotel reservation, La Quinta will accept cancellations with no penalty until 6:00pm the day of arrival. Please call the receptionist at (631) 881-7700 if you need to cancel a reservation.

Thanks again to Tom and Donna Neiland for their hard work in planning this tour! It's very much likely we will use this same event for next year's Fall Foliage Tour event. I apologize for the last minute notification and for any inconvenience and we hope to see everyone soon at the Holiday Party (details coming soon)!
