Control Pressure Regulator: Time to rebuild?

Good old 10287 had a pretty good 2017. The only issues that have cropped up and I haven't been able to resolve is an occasional hesitation to accelerate when cold, and then disappears once the engine is up to operating temperature and feeling a slight miss at idle. It's very mild but it's persistently there all the time. After doing some reading and research here and other places with K-Jet data I am leaning towards the CPR/WUR needing attention (after all it's a Warm Up Regulator and that's where I had the most noticeable symptom). Does this sound like what I think it is? And what's the remedy for CPR/WURs? Send it to be rebuilt or traded for another rebuilt unit? I usually use PJ Grady or DMCMW. Thank you all and Happy 2018

I would start with simply cleaning out the inlet/outlet screens in the unit.

You also need to have the mixture set to book values via dwell reading to have the WUR to work as designed. Also verify the WUR connector gets power and ground when the engine is running. Also check the resistance of the WUR is about 20 ohms.

The definitive test of the CPR is to use a fuel pressure gauge and watch the pressure as the motor warms up. You may also have some vacuum leaks, often it is not just one thing but several things that cause a problem. Any problem once the motor is warmed up it won't be the CPR.

Last year wasn't too bad so now we are paying for it! I haven't done a thing for my car since parking it in late November. These next few days don't look promising :bigcry: Doing any big projects this year?

Yup, I'm doing an LS swap. The powertrain is mounted in the car, and I am currently sorting out the exhaust.

Beyond cool. Think you will have it driving this year? Hope you are safe and warm through this winter crapfest

Oh yeah, for sure. Once the exhaust is done, the remaining parts will be much less challenging. Routing coolant hoses, wiring everything up (went carb, so much less work there), installing axles, and adjust shift linkage is pretty much most of it.

We should get our cars together once mine is up and running, been a few years since I've been around other DeLoreans.
