Must be something in the air. I bumped into a lady who asked if I still had my "James Bond car."

Getting out of the car at the grocery store and "Manuel" rolls up in his suburban, points at the dent in my RFF and says "hey, you want me to fix that for you? I work at Mercedes"
" No thanks, it needs a specialist"
"No problem amigo, I can do it. I do it all the time. "
"Ok, what's it made of?"
"Aluminum, amigo, I can fix it, 30 minutes"
"Adios amigo"
This was the most incorrect comment I've yet to receive, but to be fair I'm only about 2.5 months into ownership.
"Is that the one that talks to you?" I assume he was referring to Kitt.
I must be pretty lucky, as other than the typical (and usually quite annoying BTTF references/jokes), the worst comment I ever received was from a middle aged man at a car show asking me if there were any kilos packed in the doors. I replied "hell yeah, why do you think I bought the car?"
Of course, the idiots that act like they know everything about the car / JZD story, but in reality haven't a clue, are the WORST!!!
As far as stupid car comments go, driving my '77 Chrysler Cordoba is almost as bad as driving the D, as I'm constantly getting the "rich Corinthian leather" jabs.
Montalban never said 'rich' - he said 'soft.' Hearing people say it wrong really pisses me off :chairshot:

"In Cordoba, I have what I need."
Not sure if this is stupid or just odd.
The guy at the adjacent gas pump watched me for a while and as I was getting into the cra, he asked me what kind of car that was. "It's a DeLorean", I told him.
His reply:
"well, take it to the max"
OK, then......
I thought for a second there this was like saying "well, drive it like you own it!"
Not that that old expression really makes any sense either, but used to hear it when someone saw a nice/powerful car. Like, don't drive it like a rental car? Which is odd cause you'd think you would drive a rental car wild and take it easy on your own car?
I digress...
After googling and youtube searching "take it to the max", what comes up looks to me like I'm not aware of what the cool kids are saying these days, lol. Check out a couple of the music videos if you can... 10 bonus internet points if you can make it to the end of the 3 minute song. Eeek!!
Word, dawg. Word.
Well, this guy was in his mid 50s, so.......
(Older people today! Get off my lawn! And plant some nice petunias or something)
Perhaps he was advising me to take it to the CarMax and sell it ????
