Ever wondered how a DeLorean would fare on the most demanding racetrack in the world? Well as I was driving past it on the way to Austria, I thought I'd find out - and make a film about it whilst I...
Hi all,
Made a little film on the subject of how to wash a DeLorean - and how not to. We all have our own way of doing it! (not sure how to embed the link in the page - happy for mods to sort)
...
Hey, thanks Louie! Yes - I think there’s a balanced honest take on the car which I haven’t seen that much of. People either seem to think the car is total trash or a perfect piece of art and...
Haha, no - not yet!
Some of you may remember that I did a review of the DeLorean on youtube a couple of years ago (this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzTe3dIfv-c)
Well, there was a follow up that I was dying...
Thanks for all the feedback - glad you all liked it! The stainless door struts are great - would definitely recommend.
New link - only changed the wording of myth 2 but I feel it's important:

Over in the UK I've been threatening to make some kind of film about the DeLorean for a while, and finally this last week the stars aligned and made it possible.
I thought it would be productive...
I can vouch for the DeLorean Go struts. My old struts finally gave up (lasted 8 years) and I've got a new set of the DG stainless ones on now. Action is super smooth, no sudden twang at the top of...
Not quite as plentiful as they were 5 or 10 years ago. I'd say good condition B28Es without galactic mileage or rot are now more like hens' teeth. If you see one, snap it up.
Hey Simon,
How much of the repair work did you do yourself? Big job but looks great! She's not UK registered yet I take it?
Can you guys not get General Grabber HP tires stateside? They're an American tire, and pretty much the only one available in the right size in the UK.
I think it very much depends on the condition of your car. When I first got mine, 60mph was terrifying. The brakes sent you sideways, not backwards. Steering rack was shot, UJ loose, bushes rotted......
Update?!
You'll have exactly the same setup as me then - albeit with auto transmission rather than 5 speed. Would be good to get another dyno-tec at one of the meets sometime!
Good luck with this restoration Slammer. A lot of work there!
Bit harsh Chris ;) :D
Where do you start?! Alignment (panels, fascias), water egress, door design (re latches & alignment), aerodynamics (dreadful), brakes, handbrake design. Rusty bolts too of course, but you can't...
Totally agree with all of the above. Most new owners' issues are expectation related. Get the best you can afford. Don't be surprised when it goes wrong. It's a 33 year old car that was...
I just fitted a new, smaller starter in the place of the original Paris-Rhone. Does the new one have spade connectors? If so you'll need to cut and recrimp the red wire and the white wire with spade...
Simplest, lightest and most effective solution is to put a hook on the underside of the louvre which you can then simply hang the engine cover off (using the small u-shaped bar the louvre normally...
You mean we have a realistic and objective opinion of the merits of the DeLorean as a motor car? Just because you like something doesn't mean it makes it objectively good... And I think Matt gets...
After several years driving around with a tatty drivers side visor fitted back to front on the passenger side, it's time I sorted it out. Anyone got a spare? Or from a car they're parting out?
Setting my timing recently I realised the easiest way to get to the dizzy screw is to pop off the CPR. Just two allen bolts and then you can get an 11mm spanner in to the dizzy screw no probs, whilst...
I started to have running issues within 2000 miles of putting the reprofiled cams in the car. I was running 15W40 semi synthetic, although hadn't run the cams in - as I'd figured both cam and rocker...
