I'm not a tool reviewer, but this looks very similar to a Bosch unit I have with the "T" fitting & valve, indispensable tool when trouble shooting K-Jet.

I did exactly this mod as suggested by Dave last fall, I was very happy with the results and the voltage to the gauge was much better.

I can attest that this method works, I kept frying my console clock because of this spike, now no more issues.
