Awesome! I always wanted to try something like this. Neat to see it done and done well by the O.G. EFI wizard.

It's entirely possible I got something wrong on my diagram but I know my chime was working when I last had a battery in the car. Let me see if I can get into it and I'll confirm how it's set up now....
My experience was the opposite of most - I had terrible noise problems with everything I tried, until I switched to VR input running off the distributor pickup, and tuned it using the on-board...
I tripped over an old man at the market and roundly cursed him for being such a layabout in the middle of a public space.
Alas, the man was a sarcastic wizard of considerable power. My punishment...
Yes, sorry, I tried to edit the post but I missed the window. I am talking about the cross brace, part # 108330.
I imagine that using it in any way for an anti-roll bar mount might require making...
I've been thinking about the stresses involved here. I wonder if you could utilize the existing rear shock mount bar as a sway bar reinforcement? Either make arms that weld directly to the existing...
True. Although a thick enough bar may minimize that enough to have the desired effect.
Incidentally, I think I found 'Triad' from that letter posted earlier: http://www.triadservicesgroup.com/ -...
I wonder about the frame mounting part. I wonder if it would make sense to fit a custom rubber or poly bushing into the cradle - basically using the cradle itself as a frame attachment point.
I was sort of afraid of that. I have a few ideas about making one as a one off but it's far outside my expertise so I'd rather have someone who understands suspension engineering do it for me!
Time for the perennial thread..
Any news on updated rear anti-sway bars? Everything I can find says that the Addco bars are 1) no longer available 2) tended to crack the frame.
I have heard...
I have been summoned.....
Just to clarify, I did NOT create the frankenmotor described in this thread. I inherited it already-finished from a DPO (Dreaded Previous Owner).
The motor uses a...
You've got it right. I ran a wire back to the 'sensor ground' common pin on the MS unit and connected the CLT lead to the single ring on the coolant sensor. Worked beautifully.
Not sure on...
I used a 90 degree bend with no issues. You may have to slide the filter down a little depending on exactly where your bracket is mounted but there was plenty of room on mine.
I know I and a few others used a ~1984 Corvette TPS as it's a potentiometer with a lever that can be adapted with some metal bending to be driven off the throttle spool.
My next option was a...
I had the same issue on my manual, and never solved it until I added a TPS. You could try playing with the vacuum line coming off the manifold, I've seen people recommend any of a slight restriction,...
Go to your nearest local bicycle store and get a brake cable ferrule (or several if you're not sure what size you need, they're really cheap). You can crimp it on carefully with a set of wire dykes. ...
Just saw this now, would have happily made the trip today if I'd had time to plan it (3-4 hour drive each way for me).
Hey all. After a long battle I've declared defeat - the franken-PRV I inherited from my car's PO is dead. It sat for too long while I waited on people that proved to be unreliable sources for parts...
Of all the people who might have acquired Proto 1, I am so glad it's back with DMCFL and Tony! It just feels right to me. I hope I can make an excuse to go see it again.
Short answer? Don't. Don't pursue this line of inquiry. The person who made these modifications permanently ruined much of the car, and trying to deal with those modifications has left my car...
I got to drive it at DCS 2012. I was probably the twelfth or so person to drive it, and it was a hot Florida day, so it wasn't as good as it could have been.
Was it fun? Absolutely. Way better...
I just posted my final response in that thread. Mostly I am posting here to make a reference in case it does get deleted.
After taking a night to cool off and sleep on it, I've decided to make one final post outlining this entire issue from my perspective. I'm not here to start a witch hunt, I started this post in...
I am saddened to find myself making a post like this, but I feel that I have no other choice.
I have been trying to make a small parts order (a head gasket kit minus the head gaskets, and a...
Regarding the RPM noise, where are you getting your RPM input from? I had endless problems with noise until I switched to the wires from the distributor's internal VR sensor, spliced from within the...
