Oh, interesting! Thanks for the info! That really could be the cause! I will try the Bosch sensor!
thanks..........Eugen
Thanks, the valve is continously buzzing. The mixture I measured with a CO-tester and a Wideband Lambda should be correct. The car runs fine, the fuel consumption is also o.k :-)
Thanks, yes, it is from delorean.eu - they have the right parts. And the not-swinging was with the previous lambda sensor too.
[QUOTE=Michael;276189]Make sure that O2 sensor is a Bosch and not...
Thanks for your help here! Sorry for the late reply - I did not get the notification messages from the forum.
I will check the Lambda unit, but have no spare one to replace it.
The dwell meter...
Maybe someone can help here - the DeLorean runs perfectly fine, warm, cold everything, milage, but that concerns me:
When measuring dwell for the Lambda the needle is not swinging - see video...
Yes, sometimes there is still air trapped somewhere in the system, especially when a lot of brake parts were renewed/drained. Usually I drive around a bit and then bleed again. And again if...
I would not drive in winter. Same here in Austria! No way! The salt is terrible, it's dangerous and I quite like the anticipation in the spring before I get her out of hibernation! I tried rust...
Just a quick info for those with starter troubles: I just replaced my almost 40 year old starter (solenoid problem) with a new one from delorean.eu. The new starter is so much lighter/smaller (see...
I have them installed too. The car looks much better now and the seating angle is not so much reclined any more. But be aware of the dangers of installing these. When taking the old springs out one...
Just found a DeLorean in a new Volkswagen TV commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62XjfSDjahQ
Were you able to make some readings in the meantime? I "fixed" my problem with the obviously wrong sender already, I just put a varable resistor (0-100 Ohms) inline, so I could adjust the correct...
I am very interested in your tests! Fingers crossed that it's the new sensor!
Eugen
Wow, that definitely is no coincidence! Could you try your replacement sender?
Eugen
I have a similar story, I am pretty sure it is the new temperature sender. If you still got your old one you could try it again. Unfortunately I threw mine away after replacing it. The symptoms on my...
Mine does not feel "floaty" at all. It really feels planted, it is in completely stock configuration. No corrections while driving are needed at all, even on not so good roads. If you got no play in...
Robert, thanks, I'll change the temperature sensor once again. The last time I did it I had the K-jetronic removed, to that was easy. It does look like a PITA to change the sensor with everything...
Thanks for your tips! The vaccum refill kit is an interesting concept! I have a pressure tester which makes bleeding easy. And when I build up pressure I can also see if there is air in the already...
Thanks! There is no way to calibrate the gauge itself, I assume. Adding a resistor would not help as the gauge measures not linear, if I understood the principle correctly.
Eugen
Thanks, but I politely have to disagree: The cooling system does not pressure up, no signs of a blown head gasket, everything is fine so far, no air in the system. I also checked with an infrared...
I have now been driving about 200 mls with this issue. I even once more change the thermostat to a new one, but still I get the high readings of my gauge.
- independend of outside temperatures,...
yes, I use it alot! Not at the Delorean though which does not see salty roads. It works for hollow spaces very good. But on parts like framerails direct exposed to water and salt it gets washed away...
I have the exhaust kit from Ed Uding. It is built nicely and looks very good. But the sound is for my taste a little loud and droning - especially at lower crusing RPMs.
Eugen
Jump-starting is always a bit of a risk for electronic components. Spikes of higher voltage are possible. I just worked on a Hummer H3 which supposedly had it's ECU fried due to frequent...
Thanks, Dave! The thermometer reading is something in the range from 160-170 degrees. It's just the surface temperature, depending on the material these readings are not very precice. But I can feel...
