Thanks for those pointers, I'll have a look at these tonight and post the results. I also emailed you (before I saw this post) so if you don't get anything, it may be in your spam.

Thanks for that, I'll test those pins tonight. Unfortunately in New Zealand, I can't just borrow parts off another DeLorean as the closest one is a 7 hour drive away. I might need to look at other...
Hey Elvis, Is there a manual for the ECU out there? I have been using the wiring schematics for troubleshooting this far, but an actual ECU troubleshooting guide or reference manual would be great!
Hi Everyone,
Sorry for so many posts at the moment, If there is someone I can talk to offline or another resource I could use I'd be happy to so I'm not spamming this forum so much.
I'm still...
I don't buy anything locally, people here have a habit of making things too hard and wasting my time, I buy almost everything (even nuts and bolts) from DMC. It costs more but saves hours of running...
Hey good spotting guys, on the missing bolt... See this is the issue with a car that a previous owner has hacked about so much, I never knew there was supposed to be a bolt in there!
The O-rings...
Thanks again for the help, I'll get on to this next weekend. Also, someone mentioned the idle motor....
I have a feeling it's not working, Again, I'll verify this weekend but previously I have...
Just an update on this....
I suspected one of the spark plugs was cross-threading. When I got the car, this plug had shattered and I had to take all the parts out with needle nose pliers. I layed...
Thanks again for the ideas guys, I'll have a look into these today.
Hi Everyone,
Over the past few months, I managed to get 10985 running again, however after a few starts she developed a vacuum leak. I traced this down to my home made aux air bypass seal which...
Sorry for the late reply, I hadn't checked this thread... The Thermistor is definitely connected, as I connected it when I installed the new engine harness, then had to take the manifold off again as...
Thanks Dave and David,
I'll get the idle sorted, then start working though those items, this has helped put my mind at ease a bit.
Hi Everyone,
For those that don't follow my facebook and blog, Vin #10985 is now starting and running at last!
I'e been working very closely with Sarah from DMC, I'm sure she must be sick of...
Thank you, this confirms my theory that the previous owner was a muppet :)
Could be, as mine doesn't have a clock, I think the previous owner just wanted the 12 volts from it.
Hi Guys,
My fuel pump won't run after re-assembling my engine (brand new fuel pump and sender combo unit from DMC), so I've taken the center console out to trace the main harness.
What is this...
haha in that case I wouldn't worry too much, I'm sure between your notes above, comparing plugs with the old harness/schematic and looking at pics on the net, I should be ok. Thanks for your help :)
Thanks for that info Dave, that's very helpful. It sounds like I do have the correct vacuum hose.
Any photos of the harness you have would be useful if it's not too much trouble.
Greetings everyone,
The restoration of 10985 in NZ is coming along very well, I am now re-assembling all the engine ancillaries.
2 questions here, the first one is what plugs in to the hot...
Thanks David,
I can feel though the gearstick that the ball joints are dry, so I'll grease these up, and put some on the shaft of the pivot bolt before I tighten it further.
I'm just stoaked...
This may be a really dumb question, but I have finally got the new Pivot bolt in the bellcrank (what a mission)..
How far do I do this up? do you do it up so that the bolt head is touching the top...
Didn't see this until I had already bought the hose haha. I checked both rubber pipes I took out and they measured the same size, so I thought it was the same both ends. My new pipe fits the front...
Well... it took me almost 4 hours to get that pipe out!
It was so badly rusted that it had welded itself to the rubber pipe coming in from the front of the car. Long story short, I had to cut the...
Thanks for the replies,
It's too far gone to be salvaged, I can feel the bottom is very thin. I'll see if I can get a stainless pipe made up. All the hoses, clamps and vacuum lines need replacing...
Happy new year everyone!
Vin #10985 has been making steady progress since my last post. I've had the engine running which was very exciting, but I've had to strip the inlet and exhaust manifolds...
