is there any way or ressource to find out if the engine in my car corresponds to the VIN number?
Great project. There has been a few other EV conversion on a Delorean, but only a few...
I myself actually start my conversion .... today! I bought a 500miles only Delorean because I did not want to...
Before taking my gearbox out of the car, I am studying how it all works (I am going to convert my Delorean to Electric ...).
Do I get it right that the Clutch shaft is somewhat loose over the...
how does the bell housing center to the engine? Are there any dowels? Can it be adjusted?
Anyone has the exact METRIC dimensions of the bolt pattern to fix the Delorean PRV engine to the bell housing? I found this one, but it is in inches, and the conversion does give strange...
thanks!
are the patterns for fixing bolts and alignment studs etc (engine side !) different between the manual and auto bell housing? Anyone has a frontal close up picture of the auto bell housing?
this is great work! I am in the process of converting my Delorean to Electric, and having the chassis in CAD-3D would be an enormous help in test fitting the various electric motor and battery...
I meant the light SWITCH which looks different and is on the driver side! I believe you refer to the SENSOR, and not the switch.
Is it necessary to drain the engine oil before replacing the oil pressure switch. I read somewhere that unscrewing the switch dumps some oil, but not a lot. Is this correct?
Thanks!
In the meantime I have gotten into the answer myself while checking the AC mode switch. At idle, the vacuum fed to the mode switch is 20 inchHG, and when disconnecting the vacuum feed hose one can...
Two questions:
1. what is the level of vacuum that goes to the vacuum actuators?
2. if there is substantial leakage at the AC/Heath mode switch, does this have an influence on the engine idle...
thanks all for you help.
so if loose/disconnected like mine, it means the hot water will be 'on'?
TNX! Can you clarify what the water valve hose does? Is it transporting water? Or transporting air temp in the hose? Where does it connect on the mode switch?
Am I correct that the left (red arrow) hose is the vacuum feed line from the vacuum reservoir at the back of the car to the mode switch?
What is the much thinner plastic hose on the right (yellow...
OK, I found the vacuum actuators in the drivers side of the central console. None seem to move whatever position I put the A/C heater settings. I wonder if I get vacuum supplied to the central knob....
I have the printed manual, and it is clear indeed. I assume it is the top left flap/actuator in the picture that is stuck. Is it possible to visually inspect if the actuator is moving? Can I get...
I am trying to understand how the heating&Vent system works. Many things don't seem to work as expected.
The first problem I want to tackle is that if I put the mode switch in 'defrost', There is...
Thanks once more for your analysis. The weird thing however is that I did nog have to enrich but lean out the idle mixture (turning the mixture-screw CCW) to get rid of the idle hunting during warm...
Tnx David for your reply. I just got my car, so I am discovering the engine step by step. So I tackle problems and test out stuff, after a while I get a better understanding how the 'system' works...
the one hidden under the plug I removed, regulating how high/low the plunger in de fuel distributor sits at idle. see pictures at the beginning of this thread
Are you sure? I am tuning the COLD start idle, as far as I know this is BEFORE the O2 sensor gets in?
I can report back on the original problem I wanted to solve : idle hunting about every second.
Just as Delorean Europe recommended, leaning out the idle mixture did the trick. Turning the mixture...
