Hey folks-
I'm working my way through the frame off restoration of 3154 which will include an LS4 swap and I'm almost at the point to decide on my transaxle. My UN1 is in good shape, it was...
OK cool, yep I can tighten them just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something. If you can post your picture that would be awesome, no rush, thank you!
I have a brand new front suspension kit from Delorean Industries and I am trying to make sure I have it installed correctly. It looks like I am missing something on the front as the bolts seem too...
The car is safely at the new house. The homemade dolly worked like a charm. Thanks a ton for the idea! A couple lessons learned:
1) Buy heavy duty casters big enough to clear bumps in the garage...
About 15 miles so not too bad.
Ahh thanks, I will ensure the powdercoater can do this!
That's genius, thanks Nick I will give this a try!
I'm in the beginning of doing a frame off restoration of VIN3154 and now I need to move houses (long story). The frame is on the ground on rolling dollies (totally stripped to go to powdercoater)...
Can the pressure readings by temperature in the workshop manual be used for a system that has been converted to r134a?
If not can someone point me to the correct pressures?
Thanks,
Jake
Cool thanks everyone. I will drain and refil. Looks like 3.7 liters according to the manual which would be about four 32oz bottles, is that right?
Replaced the valve in the low side and recharged with 13oz and now the compressor is cycling normally and I am getting cold air, whoohoo! Thanks for all the help.
Hmm, I am not sure what gearbox oil is in there. Just to be sure I'm clear on this (this is my manual car ever), gearbox oil is for lubricating manual transmission while "transmission fluid" is for...
My 5 speed shifts fine for the most part but when it gets warm it sometimes grinds to go to 1st met with some resistance too. All other gears are fine, just first. I see that the PO replaced the...
Quick update on this. I went to remove the low side and heard a hissing when unscrewing it so looks like the valve portion underneath was removed. I can see that the adapter has some corrosion so I...
Cool, thanks for all the great info, i definitely learned a lot! I have hoses for R12 so after this whole experience I think I'm going to take your advice and keep the R12 fittings, less to go wrong...
Thanks guys great info. The high side shows about 100 at rest and cycles between 90 and 150 as the compressor cycles. So can I just remove the extenders or is there a risk of the r12 fittings...
Do these look like retrofit fittings?

Hmm, I'm starting to think you are right with the valve being bad. So I'm getting readings fine but the minute I open the low side knob to start putting in frig, even with the frig can closed, it's...
I didn't mess with the valves so those should be ok. I wonder if the valve didn't open, I will disconnect the line and try again. Since my compressor runs a little is it still necessary to jump it...
Looks like the PO changed my system to r134a. It's not blowing cold and compressor is cycling every 5 seconds. Bought a gauge kit and low side is about 10 psi at rest. To fill I jumped the...
Thanks for the tips, going to check these things. I read over the idle control and it sounds like it is independent of the lands system since it gets its rpm data from the distributor.
Going to...
First issue is an idle issue. I've been crawling through threads but can't seem to get this one nailed down. Basically my car starts cold just fine and sits around 750-800 which is perfect. Once...
Cool I will try to replace the cap first. It no longer spews when there is about 1/4 worth of fluid in the SS tank. I also have a sight glass to see the fluid level and I noticed it looks like...
Back on this. I keep finding coolant under the rear after driving. I figured I had a joint coupler leaking but I saw coolant coming out the over fill hose. When cold there is barely any coolant in...
Haha, oops, I thought I selected Other, my fault but funny indeed.
Been troubleshooting this some more and I dunno what the heck this sound is. It seems to be when I turn the wheel to the left,...
