Correct - poly bottom, rubber top, all four.
You can dial the shocks to any feel you like - but with the poly bushings there was a harshness transferred directly into the frame, whereas with the...
Keep forgetting to update that I finally completed the work and have had her on the road a couple weeks now.
I installed my shock and suspension upgrade a long time back and, while I dialled the...

Okay found the problem - Ed had mentioned something about washers being an issue too and would include replacements for me. They didn't unfortunately come, but it had me thinking looking at that...
So I have the replacement bushings from Ed - and can now see the originals have definitely compressed and buckled (and per painterdave72 a tiny hole has worn too).
Next dilemma - after finally...
So this is the only real picture I could find from my original install where I could zoom in on these bushings.
They look fine here - exactly as I remembered, a perfect fit after torquing.
So...
So Ed has confirmed there was a bad batch of these many years ago. Great :(
I concur - it looked shoddy when I got mine many years ago, and sure enough it leaked so I ripped it out.
I was disappointed as bleeding that bugger sucks, but at same time I also vividly remember...
I don't have a photograph with me, but when originally installed they sat beautifully flush they didn't look anything like the buckled mess they are now :(
Thank you - fronts now complete. Those were still intact but I did them first to ensure the new rubber ones matched the size of the former polys, since the rears don't even exist anymore!

Heaven help anyone ever buying...

Well, this thread is very moist 🤣😂
It's a Tora (ironically same make as the crap unit) part C41051 to suit the Jaguar XJS, XJ6, and XJ12.
So here is the offending part - frustratingly most aftermarket replacements I could find happened to be this exact piece of crap:

After much searching I came across this hot water valve for...
Add me to the list of people who have had the Hervey unit snap at that exact spot. Spectacular - coolant sprayed everywhere, steam bellowing, has taken a week to slowly clean up the mess (happened...
I completely redid the brake system 5 years ago - rebuild the callipers, new master cylinder, and new lines. Since then I have flushed the brake system every ***12*** months, the last time was...
Guttered to say I have had exactly the same failure.
Last week I spent three nights doing an intense clean for a major South Australian historic cruise my DeLorean finally qualifies for - I had...
There was a project in an (Australian) electronics magazine back in the 90s to convert a lawnmower into a robot - it spread across many issues and relied on some sort of string line system to mark...
I bought his original but it began to ever so slightly leak. I simply removed it - not worth the risk of brake fluid dripping anywhere and not worth the pain of contacting John.
