As unbelievable as it may sound, this might not be far from the truth, especially if the car in question was being service at 'DeLorean One'
Ed B at DeLorean One was old-school, hardcore OEM and a...
Nice, that would be a good solution I need to replace my riv nuts anyway, I'll give my idea a try but rather than 3D printing I'm going to laser-cut the plate from HDPE as the threads heat sink into...
I don't see any need to remove the back end? just pull the lights, drill out the riv nuts and install 2 of these beauties per side with a couple of blobs of double sided 3m Foam tape.

Dave,
I think you're an occasional 3D printing chap so...
Drill out the old riv-nuts
3D print a small block the size of a 4 x 2 Lego piece with a hole in the centre.
Pop in a M7 brass...
Annoyingly I can't remember who had them.
But the person I got the original file for kindly moved the background DMC logo so that it was central (that would drive you mad once you noticed it) and...
I run a small 3D printing and laser cutting business here in the UK. My website printsolid.co.uk has a small snapshot of the type of parts I print, DeLorean owners are sure to recognise a few of...
Oooh that might do the trick. Would you happy to email me me a copy? I'll PM you my email address.
Many thanks
James
Does anyone have really good drawing of the original dash/instrument cluster that they might be willing to share?
something like the attached but in higher resolution, a line drawing would be even...
I 3D Printed these with a channel in for an O-Ring, makes them water tight and stay in the hole.

This is so true, the number of times I've seen a really interesting post about a new product or DeLorean related trinket and I can never find it again especially as there are so many DeLorean FB...
There is a chap in the UK who manufactures both mild steel and stainless steel DeLorean frames.
When chatting to him recently at an event the subject of weight came up.
He advised (having...
Hi Josh,
I have a few designs as yet unannounced, but whenever I'm just about to start something new the demand for an existing item jumps up and I have to park things for a little while, it's a...
My new gloveboxes have a dual USB plug inside, mainly for charging a phone whilst kept out of site, but I like the USB in the switch, very smart.

Nice, if printing with nylon you have to keep it as dry as a bone it absorbs atmospheric water like mad and then prints really badly. I didn't realise that when manufacturing with nylon, most items...
Dave,
You can certainly get 2 colour FDM printers, sometimes duel extruders so one just takes over from the other, or you have a purge tower which prints to one side and you run two colours...
Dave,
Depending on what you need to do I use all Creality FDM hardware for my small business, they're pretty solid in terms of build quality and with a few tweaks can be very reliable and good...
Worth noting, just for the sake of balance, that the 'UK' exhaust manufactured/stocked by DeLoreanGo in the UK is not the same as the original one which you mention above, I can't comment on quality...
We're spoiled for choice now, when I bought my car in 2000 in the UK both handles broke and didn't have many options. My friend, a pattern maker for a foundry at the time, hand-made replacement ones...
Did you cycle it through the gears while running to make sure the torque converter etc... was filled?
Also at the risk of sounding stupid, you did wipe the dipstick clean and then take the reading...
Aren't the reproduction handles aluminum anyway? in which case no issues with leaving un-coated apart from oxidation, that said that it probably held at bay by being constantly touched by oily hands....
A few of the DMC vendors used to stock these, there must be a mould for them somewhere, might be worth a quick email to see if they would run a set off. I can't imagine they were a big seller and...
A lot of the heat in the fuel tank is probably because 95+% of the fuel being sent to the hot engine goes straight back to the tank and continuously cycles around the engine and tank.

Do you mind me asking what material you are printing with?
Just curious.
Edit...
Just taken a closer look, I'm guessing a resin of some kind.

I started drawing a binnacle up in CAD some time back, as it was my first delve into mesh modelling/sculpting, but I soon realised that hardly anyone is actually missing a binnacle and with the...
