new thread created. WITH PICS! Brought the car home....1st time it's been out of the warehouse & outdoors in 34 years
The tag on the front is my papaws. I left it on there for now. The car was in Virginia, I'm in Tennessee
All the ownership/title stuff is already worked out... executor has provided all that and signed the stuff the state DMV required me to get. I insured it before I ever put it on a trailer to bring...
I posted probably 2 years ago about a Delorean I was supposed to inherit from my grandfather but the estate was still being settled.
I was finally able to go pick it up & witness it being pulled...
Are there any kits out there for converting a DMC to 5 lug? The wheel options out there seem far greater for 5 lug wheels.
Just curious if this is even a possibility without some kind of major...
Its been a while since I last posted... but I finally received word that the Delorean is free for me to come pickup and transport back to Tennessee. I am so excited about getting my grandpas car...
I did snap a pic of them the last time I was up. The car on the far end is a really old Rolls Royce with suicide doors... you drive it from the right hand side & I think it has a straight-10 in it....
Thanks buddy... That will be helpful. I'm so friggin excited about this car. Its been really hard to wait this long

Everything is still tied up. I hope soon. I plan to talk to my grandmother about it soon. I'm antsy to get started. Honestly I haven't pushed it because I don't have a place to put it out of...
Any manufacturers out there making 17-18" spoked wheels that have at least 8-10+ spokes (in proper size to fit delorean)?
To me, deloreans look best with multi-spoke style wheels, but it would be...
and I just KEEP learning.... thanks again for the input
I've been learning a lot in the 2 weeks I have been a member here & keep seeing lots of mentions about saving money by buying cross referenced parts.
Is there an existing "Master List" or thread...
When I start working on mine and/or getting it going, it might be good to have a local guy or 2 that I could connect with.
Thanks!
I plan if possible to NOT convert anything on the engine from the OEM setup.. unless it is a well known failure point. I'd rather restore back factory original. Other than electrical upgrades...
the more I hear you guys talk.. the more confident I am getting thinking I can handle a lot of this (at least on getting it running).
I'll get pics the next time I go to grandpa's and post them. ...
I've been a member of many forum/communities.. I gotta say.. this has been one of the best experiences so far & great feedback.. thank you guys so much!
I know 1 thing.. I will not be turning it...
Likely... I intend to keep it.. because it was such an iconic purchase for me as a kid when my Papaw bought them. I would sit out in the garage in it, pretending to drive it for hours sometimes. ...
I'm REALLY hoping it isn't in the 20K range.. it'll be hard for me to sell that to the wife..
I did crawl underneath it & under the hood... I don't see any rust issues anywhere.. it seems to have...
