I'm happy to read that it's not just my car that does this. I stripped back the loom a few months ago to find if there was a problem but I think it's just some sort of electrical emissions problem..
I noticed the same while repairing the mess that was my wiring loom.
There was an inline fuse that took power from a constant live feed under the steering column and connected to the brake light...
thank you all for your responses.
I found what the problem is.....the PO.
They cut the entire loom and have incorrectly crimped the wires back together. I've not idea why they did it.
Thanks for the input.
I've been using the colour wiring diagram to check all the wires - unfortunately Fuse 1 & 5 have the same colours!
In the past a PO had messed about with the wiring...
Hi all,
I'm just finishing some electrical work in my fuse & relay compartment, including installing a new Special T Auto fuse box and i'm checking the operation of all fuses and I can't figure...
Hi - do you have a photo of this ground?
Thanks
I had a similar problem a couple of years ago.
The car would start and run for about 10mins and then shut down for no reason.
It would not re-start and there was no spark.
Wait about half hour...
As well as changing the interior dome lights to LED, I also added 12v LED strips to the footwell.
These really make the car feel a bit more modern and handy if you need to work down in the footwell...
I've done the same with mine.
I removed the bolster, repaired some of the cracked plastic on the panel and secured them..... better than ever!
I scanned the photo from a book called Belfast a Century

the photo is taken at a warehouse down by the docks; as Nick says...
I spoke to the curator a few years ago. I recall his surname is Kennedy. He said they would leave the car in the condition as it was. He seemed to believe that was the condition it was delivered to...
Here's photos of what the factory looks like on a normal day- sorry the kodak link from previous posts no longer works.

These are photos of what to expect if you get to visit the factory site. I was able to get into the Montupet car park at the time but the gates might be closed now....
