20w50 in the Summer months. 10w40 the rest of the year. I found this resulted in better fuel economy.
As for oil brand, Castrol. Though Mobil-1 has been good to me too, and I've heard positive things about Royal Purple. I never switched the D over to full Synthetic, but I will. I find that it's always quieted the idle in my cars a bit, and I prefer the extended oil changes.
BOSCH oil filters or OEM only. I had a FRAM once melt down and fall apart on my car. Glue and cardboard inside. Never again.

There's more to an oil filter then just fit. What is that filters bypass pressure? Also does it have an anti-drain back valve?
For me, it's the Bosch that vendors sell. Fortunately for me, I've known about Frams for so long, I've never let one touch any of my cars. Their air filters on the other hand aren't too bad.
I've always gone full synthetic Mobil 1 15w50 all year long. I've used this in all of my vehicles and one of them is going on 350k and doesn't smoke at all. No harsh winters here though.

How do you guys feel about oil filters for the Volvo 265? Oil filters that you can get any where? I was thinking about moving the oil pressure gauge sensor out of the way and using those filters.

Brad Penn 20w50 during the summer, Shell Rotella 15W40 when it is cooler outside.
The Mobil 1 filters are made by Champion Labs and are essentially identical to the ones marketed by K&N, among others. They are of good qualty.
I've been running a Mobil 1 filter and castrol 20/50 as of late.
