Nice enough. The two huge detractors for me is :
A) I would never in a million years buy an Auto
B) that absolutely loathsome fender antenna

That's excellent news, but only to be expected.
As mine is both a Mighty Auto and has the rare fender antenna, I see that both these features are continuing to command good money in the market.

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

I thought so, too. I have the same combination and I go one further: black interior. SO get that: black interior, fender antenna and auto. But hey, taste is totally subjective.
Did I want a manual before buying my D? Yes. I consulted this very forum to get opinions on it and also noticed that they are subjective (I do not want to start another auto vs. manual discussion. This entry is already off topic of this thread!). Do I like my auto? Yes, it is perfect on long rides and stop and go.
Do I think I would have more control with the manual? Yes, but I am happy with my car as it is.
Would I like to get rid of the fender antenna? Sure I want to, but I leave it original for now until I find a good solution for the antenna hole that does not involve a ton of money.
Those are my 5 cents.
And I think that the buyer of the $22k car got a great deal with a full history on the car. Hope that he will sign up to our forum!

The way I see it, if you're gonna drive around in a car, why not do it with some style?
Auto owners are content with their car as is, manual owners tend to be sad that their car isn't more, so the only thing they can think to do is rag on us. Been going on for years here. Think of Manual owners as the fat kid everyone else made fun of in school, the fat kid then points to the geek and says "What about him, he's worse than me"
