    VIN 1171 - Black Automatic 3,800 miles - $28,500

I am posting this for someone else who is selling it as a broker, but who knows very little about DeLoreans.

This car came out storage along with 3 other DeLoreans - 4670, 3922 and 4916.

4670 was a essentially a parts car and moved east to Alberta. Volker (vps3922) purchased 3922 in January and we spent the winter working on his car. I put an offer on 4916 a few months ago and just recently had the owner agree to my offer. That leaves 1171, a very nice early example needing a new home.

These cars all came from California, so the frames have been very nice.

    Other good stuff about 1171:

    - near perfect dash and binnacle.
    - the stainless is excellent
    - nice early grey rims with little damage
    - comes with an original car cover
    - leather is in good shape (dry, but no bad cracks - drivers side seat back bolster appears to have been replaced with nice leather)
    - no cracks in vinyl trim
    - starts and idles nicely
    - fuel system attended to recently
    - RH door has excellent alignment
    - OEM wide black stripe in nice shape
    - early pontoon visually different (not textured though)
    - fuzzy coin tray
    - no cracks or chips in glass
    - head liners and carpets are nice
    - all gauges operational
    - original keys in tact
    - no fuse box melting

    Not so good stuff:
    - radio is inoperable
    - dubious wiring in fuse/relay area for alternate relays
    - some A pillar trim coming loose
    - no insurance so i didn't drive the car
    - LH door needs to be aligned
    - power windows dubious, off track
    - AC needs to be recharged
    - Hiss behind radio indicates vacuum leak (likely just loose at mode switch)
    - rear fascia appears to be repainted slightly too light
    - wear on arm rests
    - outer bolster on drivers seat back recovered (one of those indicators the mileage may not be accurate, but dash, binnacle and frame could indicate otherwise)
    - RH tail light lens faded
    - minor louvre cracks
    - trunk carpet/board missing

I was not able to drive the car and only had 20 minutes to do my inspection. This would be a car that with a little more work, would be a very nice, early example. Cosmetically, it's very close. Mechanically, it also seems very close.

Hit me up with any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

The car is located in North Vancouver, BC. $28,500.

What's that on the roof Dave?

Looks like a sat radio antenna, but the original craig is still there. I couldn't see anything else in the passenger compartment. Is that part of the additional wiring for a hidden receiver?

I believe it's just for the radio. The original windshield is in place, and i can see the embedded antenna in the lower RH corner, but i think this is a work around for the fender mount recall. The shop thought this was "the highly sought after factory roof mount option" to which i replied "no, it's a T-panel ruining after-market job." They were disappointed. Shops don't seem to like being informed or corrected.

Ah, I just saw a close up of it, and that exactly what it is, although it appears to me missing the metal aerial bit that is hinged to that mount and may be altered to the rakish angle that you desire

From a distance it looks like the BMW sharkfin
