Make sure you get "agreed value" insurance.
Do a search on here on "insurance" and you will get more info than you can possibly digest

I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

I have progressive for my truck but they said they wouldn't even consider my DeLorean. Hagerty gave me a great rate for the DeLorean. In fact, when I add my 70 Opel GT to my Hagerty account, my rate wont even go up (because its so much less valuable than the DeLorean and will cause me to drive the DeLorean less).

+1 to all that was said. Search the forum, there are several threads with hundreds of posts. Also big +1 to Hagerty, if you read all those previous posts you'll see dozens of others who agree.

American Modern http://www.amig.com/ - Unlike Hagerty, there's no restrictions on driving your car to work if you like...even once a week...that was a deal breaker for me with Hag. Unlimited mileage too.

One thing to keep in mind and I think all of the classic car insurance companies do this - if you own another car and have lower limits than what they'd normally cover you with, they'll reduce your limits with their policy to match your other policy. So if their classic car policy has $100,000 liability limits but you have $30,000 liability limits with your Honda Civic with Geico for example, they;ll reduce the Delorean limits to $30,000. This reduces the chance that they'd get sued for additional damages if you were to wreck your Honda.
I just did a quote via their website and it came back @ $402/yr! Geez! Last year I paid $145 for the year. That seems a bit excessive. Is that what the other folks using Hagerty are paying? I understand it varies by location a bit.

I have insurance through Sate Farm... They would not do an agreed value policy without a driving restriction.
I looked at Hagerty and it's nearly double what my current premium is.
I understand the benefit of agreed value - but if your car is totaled any insurance company has to use comparables to evaluate the pre-accident value of the car. So what's the risk?
