My DMC is insured through American Collectors with an agreed upon value of $25,500 and 2,500 mileage tier. Interestingly, they never asked for my odometer reading.

I used a broker to find what I wanted. For $40, they did all the leg work for me. I too demanded daily driver coverage with full collision, since I do drive one of my DeLoreans nearly daily to work, etc. Ended up with a company called Safeco.
Holy crap, it pays to shop around. I had to call Geico to get a landlord policy, had them give me an auto quote too, got DD coverage for half what I was paying for Progressive.

If you are NOT using your Delorean as a daily driver Geico is not the best insurer. They will rate it WAY too high, hit you with a deductible and not give you "Agreed Value" in the event of a total loss. If you can qualify for collector insurance that is the way to go.

Just called geico and they gave me a much cheaper quote but then said they actually couldn't write a policy for a 1982 vehicle valued at $30k.

I use the car as a daily driver and don't have a garage so collector insurance is out for me.

Ask your insurance company or broker these questions:
How much is the deductible?
What is the total value of the car?
What do I get if the car is stolen and not recovered?
You will be surprised what you get on a 30 year old car. The system is rigged so you don't want to use the car as a daily driver. BTW the premium on a collector policy is often under $500 for the year, no deductible, and agreed value for a total loss.
