    Electroluminescent rear bumper letter inserts

I had this idea today. I want to get some electroluminescent sheets and cut out the letters to fit in the rear bumper so that the letters can be illuminated.

Does anyone have a cad drawing of the letters? Someone must have it because so many people are selling those laser cut/water jet cut stainless inserts.

I think I could get these cuts to cut the sheets for me. http://electroluminescence-inc.com/c...gnServices.htm

Seen it done before, but can't find a picture.

You could use the Rustproof font and scale it up to match the bumper letter height and then covert the file into a vector image?

Can you get sheets of the stuff and just cut it yourself? I would be interested in that.

I decided to use white EL wire to outline the stainless letters, looks better in daytime than flat EL panel.

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

    lighted letters

Did the same thing by cutting out the letters, gluing red plastic behind with a neon tube on a switch.

How did you run the power lines to them? I assume you drilled small holes in the bumper.

I watched a few videos on YouTube about it and it looks like cutting it yourself leaves the layers exposed to the elements.
