The DeLorean Museum occasionally offers items for sale that have been donated in instances where the Museum has more than one of a particular item - whether or not it is directly related to the history of John DeLorean or the original DeLorean Motor Company - the lesser quality item(s) may be offered for sale. All donors are made aware of this policy at the time of their donation.

In accordance with the American Alliance of Museums Code of Ethics, proceeds from these deaccession sales are used strictly for the acquisition of memorabilia and supplies necessary to protect and preserve the existing items in the Museum collection.
