You might want to hit up Patrick Shea on facebook, as he now owns the original screen used hood box that was finally found. I have some high resolution pictures of it that I'm not allowed to show yet, but if you reach out to him I think he would be more than willing to help you out. Aside from Mark, who is a wealth of knowledge!

The large coil is called a "Transmitter coil". I don't have all my info handy but I think it's from a BC610 radio?

This should at least get you in the ballpark:

The 4 core device is referred to as the "cage resistor" and I think it was originally made by GE.

Thanks for the information, it's really great to learn about the coil, however I was trying to reference this part in the middle. Just from my online searching it seems like it is a high power resistor of some sort made for high voltage applications, but I could be totally off.

Ah, ok sorry for the confusion

That part is called an "Edgewound Resistor"

Thanks so much! If I could bug you about one more part, could you tell me what these are? They almost look like some upside down meter of some sort, but that's more of a guess than anything.

Hey Mark... or anyone else that has built a time machine. Is there a "master list" over all the parts needed and also descriptions? In all my years I've never seen anyone assemble and actual list anywhere of parts needed for a conversion. I don't think it would be hard to do, kind of Bill of Materials with pictures so to speak.

This is something that is going to be released as a part of Joe Walser's upcoming book and is the culmination of 15+ years of research from a couple dozen people. From my own personal experience I can tell you that putting something like this together is an insane amount of work. There's really no way to stop at just creating a list of parts due to the large number of custom fabricated parts that need to be built as well. All of those piece parts, dimensions, hole locations, weldment assembly prints, etc. are needed above and beyond just the parts you need to buy. There is also a seemingly endless amount of assembly hardware for all the various parts, labels/decals, stamps, paint codes, etc.

I'm not actively involved with the book project at this point but from my previous work know the goal is to include as much information as possible. It's intended to be a guide that would allow a person to (accurately) convert a DeLorean into a time machine
