    Trouble with short cooling hoses

I have been trying to install new short hoses from dmcmw. For the life of me I cant get the hose onto the pipe. Almost looks like the hose diameter is too small. Suggestions?

    John,
Use a silicone lubricant to assist with the pipe to hose installation. The best product available for this is eaton assembly lube.

Any particular hose? The pipe along side the transmission on the right side of the car (trans cooler on an automatic, just another tube on a manual) is a slightly larger diameter than the others, and the hoses are made specifically for that. If you grabbed the wrong hose it will be a VERY tight fit.
    BUT
I checked invoices and can't find any cooling hoses for you since 2012. Anyway, at that time the were not made this way and would require quite a bit of effort to fit. But they will work

The correct ones now are 105994 (curved/lower) and 106821 (straight/upper).

Hoses were from feb 2012....and of course the first pipe i try is the slightly oversized one! Silicone spray and slightly heating the rubber worked. They fit on the other pipes alot easier.
Thanks for the lightning fast responses!!!

I dont have the pipes back on yet. My pipe was also against the frame. I put a piece of foam between them so it wouldnt rub.

    Thanks Dave, extremely helpful info.

I just got into this area today and figured something was awry.

I think the website has an error; 106821 on the parts list appears to show a pic of 105994 (curved/lower.) The diagram also appears [to me] to show the straight hose on the lower end. I haven't yet found the upper hose displayed on any diagram.

This explains my confusion as to why the 106821 I ordered is a straight/reducing unit.
