For any of y'all Florida folks who haven't heard, Tony at DMC Florida (and one of the long time sponsors of this show in Celebration each year too) is having his tenth anniversary open house day at his shop in Bonita Springs (near Fort Meyers) THIS Saturday 21 March, and I've not seen a whole lot of promotion on it. Tony has just bought back the original Prototype One DeLorean, that he'd restored a few years ago, and it will be there on display, as well as the opportunity to tour the whole shop. Besides, if you're already prepping your car to be it's best at Celebration, you might want to pick up some parts to finish it up while you're there. So if you can, please do try to do both events, like I am, and hope to see you there THIS Saturday. The original announcement was kind of buried in a thread about Proto One, but here's what Tony said there:

    Thank you Josh,

Now that the all the dust has settled, I am pleased to announce that DMC-Florida has purchased the cars with the intent of keeping Prototype #1 long term.

The car will be on display in our Bonita Springs Showroom and the center piece of our 10th Anniversary Open House Saturday March 21st 2015.

Although the car is in the showroom, it is clearly labeled " For Display Only - Not For Sale"

I encourage all DeLorean Owners and enthusiasts who have not seen the car in person to make the trip when you can.

    Best Regards,

    Tony Ierardi

If you need to GPS it (or even old-school paper map it!), DMC Florida is located at 28701 Trails Edge Blvd, Bonita Springs, FL 34134, and the phone is (239)-495-8550. A link to their web site is here: http://dmcflorida.com/

Well, apparently I'm totally screwed on attending the Celebration Exotic Car Festival this month :-(

Tried to get registered today and was told that they are full, and even waitlisted, for the entire show, and apparently have been for over three weeks now. Could have reluctantly skipped going to the DMC open house last month and redirected things to this instead, had I had even the slightest inkling that the event would (or even COULD - they have the whole freaking downtown for Christ's sake!) sell out, but never heard anything to that effect. :-(

Kind of ironic, as it was cash flow issues from the costs of unexpected parts & maintenance needed to get ready for THIS show in the first place that caused me to have to delay the registration until now. Guess I shouldn't have replaced that window motor until NEXT month, LOL :-(

If anyone here who already IS registered can no longer go, can you PLEASE contact me directly about possibly swapping me out for your registered place in the show field, if they even allow that?

I spent more money than I have to prep, turned down other opportunities on the same day for free admission at another non-car related event that I can no longer get into as my friends there have found someone else to work their booth, had to sweet talk the boss into giving me a day off (that is now too late to cancel), and I also lose what could have been possibly my best opportunity to get my car out in front of the eyes of countless potential impulse buyers at the show.

Feeling REALLY low now, can anyone give me something to feel better about?...
