Most hoods that aren't grooved or flapped are plain 'ol "flat hoods," but......I have a "non-grooved, non-flapped, non-badged hood" that I'd be willing to "even trade" for a flapped hood, just don't tell the other two guys -lol!

Sorry - sold the one I had. Apparently I don't part out quite as many cars as y'all.

BURN! This sounds like the start of a DMC vendor roast. Wonder if comedy central would pick that up....

How much more roughly does a gas flap hood gofor over a non flap hood? Yes, i knowit depends, but pretend everything else is even and both hoods are in perfect shape-just looking for a rough idea.

Loose part or on the car?

I don't see that it makes a huge difference on an individual car, but as a replacement part a good used gas flap hood can be 4-5 times the price of a good used "flat" hood, with the lined hood somewhere in the middle. Prices depend on who is selling, who is buying, and if more than one person is looking for a gas flap hood at the same time..

I might make a non-grooved gas-flap hood. As soon as I meet with someone who has a gas-flap, I'm going to get all the necessary dimensions & info.

From a distance, it sure doesn't look like it'll be too difficult.

Don't think it would be hard to do that. You just need to have a good way to clamp the metal so you don't accidentally distort the parts you want flat.

Oh its a bit harder than you think! I saw the Mighty Chris Nicholson knacker one or two before he got it down and I've seen no one else pull it off since. Please correct me if I'm wrong here. IT IS DIFFICULT!
Anyone who would trade a flapped hood "even steven" (even Stephen?) for a flat hood also would buy swamp land in Florida to build on.
It's like trading your diamonds for rhinestones because you like their sparkle better. That's fine but does it really make economic sense?
