    Introducing the iDMC

    Hello everyone,

Well it's been a long project but I'm finally done restoring vin 16811. An 83 5 speed with black interior that I've owned since 1999.

Beside doing for the most part a full restoration, I've modernized the car using several iDevices, custom software, Atmel based hardware, viper systems, hacked software and more.

The car has functional HUD and a full compliment of voice commands, touch screen door launching, engine start and much more. It is still a work in progress as I keep getting suggestions and more ideas as time goes on.

The car itself was already in excellent condition with 38k original miles. I've taken most of the car apart to update and restore pretty much everything on the car. The trunk and pontoons have been resurfaced and painted as well as each part of the car was meticulously refurbished. Some custom modifications were done to the interior to compliment and allow some of the mods to be possible.

    Special thanks to:

All of the members here that contributed advice along the way. Thank you so much!
    Lastly:
John DeLorean for his vision so I too can live the dream.

I hope everyone enjoys seeing what I've done. I would love to hear any feedback and suggestions anyone may have.

    Thanks everyone! Please enjoy.

    Looks great, Paul.

I think I might be at Car Stars on Saturday. We're in Vegas that weekend so if I make it out I'll look you up.

    Cheers

Great job on those upgrades. Did you do an interlock of the remote start to verify your in neutral?

Thanks so much Dave! Absolutely. If the car is in gear the remote start is disabled. I also converted the defrost switch into a remote interlock switch. I need to buy one of your led panels to compliment the dash.

That's badass. Everything is very nicely done.

Is the backup camera wireless? If so, how bad is the delay?
