Thanks Accipiter! I tried my best not to butcher the car in the process. The backup cam is great. Very little delay at all after it loads. It's wifi so a much stronger signal and more bandwidth than Bluetooth.

I'll upload more video of capabilities and things that didn't make it into this video like multitasking all apps at once on the screen Tesla style and the car control system that's on my iPhone, usable on the ipad. When you turn the ignition key I also have a neat DMC splash logo that comes on as well as powering off, the car says "Driving session is completed, have a pleasant day, or evening" depending on the time of day.
Here's a night video testing the speedometer done a couple of months ago. If anyone is curious, when power is applied by turning on or remotely starting the car all of the devices come on at the same time, bypassing the lock screen and open to their pre-programmed apps without having to click on anything.

Many thanks to you Patrick! You've very much provided the method to my madness! You have also been an incredible inspiration with your creativity and kindness.
Excellent job. What is the cost behind these upgrades. Also is that a regular iPad or a mini?
Barry
Thanks! I'd guess around 3k plus a lot of time. It's an iPad mini. If I decide to control the water valve, mode switch, fan switch with servos, vacuum solenoids, and microprocessor, I'll mount a full size ipad in portrait setting and ditch the old A/C control panel.
this is really cool, only thing i can say and this is just personal preference but heads up displays belong on the windscreen for me :P
