There aren't enough to DeLoreans on the road to pollute. It is really dumb of CA to have blanket Smog requirements. If they were really concerned about the air they would include car production numbers and actual cars registered to come up with their SMOG requirements. Most DeLorean cars aren't driven and even less on a daily basis. There is no logic to the system. Just a way for the state to find raise. If we're lucky in another 20 years, they may made the SMOG Exempt cutoff like 1990.

As much as I would love for this to pass I don't have much faith it will. There was another bill recently that would have made all pre-1981 cars exempt that failed to pass.
PA has that law about spend so much on repairs and you pass anyway, but it's only a one-year waiver. You have to pass it the next time or you can't get your registration renewed. They do have a mileage exemption though. Anything driven less than 5,000 miles per year just gets a visual. I mostly qualify for THIS rule. It's a shame CA has to be so darn restrictive.
