Fair points, I suspect thats how the car was purchased (re: the missing parts). Whilst not trying to find reasons for any surface rust it is possible that any surface corrosion took place whilst the car was at the ports either in the US or UK/being moved around on trucks/or on the ship across the Atlantic especially with the engine cover being missing. Either way it will be intersting to see what this makes at auction and what happens with it.
